Set of 4 Iittala Candle holders

$125.00

Timo Sarpeneva designed. Iittala made. Finland. 1960s or 1970s. Excellent condition. Many people have asked me over the years why these are quite often a little different. It’s because the glass was poured into a mold (an Iittala rep told me these were originally poured into a wood mold like the Aalto vases but I’m not sure) and when the mold is worn it is replaced. They are replaced often. Because of the texture the candle wax can be tricky to remove but holding them under hot water will usually do the trick. Some like to but them in the freezer but I’ve found hot water works better. For superclean candle holders wiping with paint thinner works great, then a little soap and water finishes them off. Spic and span as mom use today. 3.15 inches tall.
