O. C. White Industrial Lamp
Massachusetts at one time was the center for the hightest quality machine tools and woodworking tools. Sterritt, Millers Falls, Putnam, Morse, S. A. Woods to name a few. But any good craftman will tell you the most essential “tool” for quality work is good lighting. O. C. Smith provided the lighting for machinists, woodworkers, die makers, pattern markers and the like for many decades. And the lighting provided by O. C. Smith stood toe to toe with the best machines made. That’s why their lamps are still around and still treasured, and many lamps have been dusted off, washed down and found their way to homes throughtout the country. And rightly so.
This one has a three-way switch for a three-way bulb though any bulb will work, old paint worn away from years of use(if you decide to remove the wonderful old paint I don’t want to hear about it.) and electrical compm=nents that work as intended.
I found it with a piece of wood attached, probably from an old work bench. It will need a heavier base or to be screwed down.
