Norton and Fenton #2 Jug
Bennington Vermont was a center for both utility and decorative pottery in 19th century America. Two of these pottery companies were owned by Christopher Fenton and Julius Norton. Being related by marriage they decided to join a partnership. Bad idea. It lasted a few years (1845-1847) and did not go well. Separate ways they went. This is a rare 2 gallon jug from their few years together. Except for one small chip as pictured the jug is in fine shape. 13” tall.
