Custom Solid Black Walnut Bookends
When the store was open the requests for “cool” or “good” bookends seemed to happen daily. We from time to time would get Don Shoemaker cocobolo bookends, or teak plywood bookends from Denmark or various limited production craftspeople bookends, but never enough.
So we made some of air-dried black walnut bookends, all different. Find a walnut tree, slice up, let dry for 2 years and make bookends. Yup, we did all that.
Finished with proprietary oil/spar varnish/turpentine, 3 coats, and waxed. The tongues are stainless steel and black felt covers the bottoms.
Various sizes and .prices
These crescent bookends were designed to allow for a look at the book cover not just the spine.
